Equipment insurance

How cover, waivers and deposits work when you take plant out of the Swakopmund depot.

01

Who insures what

Titan carries cover for the fleet while it is in the depot and while it is being transported by our own vehicles.

Once the equipment is in the hirer's possession, responsibility for the machine transfers to the hirer under the hire agreement.

02

Damage waiver

A damage waiver can be added to most hires for a percentage of the hire value, quoted before dispatch. The waiver covers accidental damage from normal site operation.

The waiver does not cover theft, loss, misuse, overloading, water ingress or operation by untrained persons.

03

Deposits

A refundable deposit may be requested on collection. Deposits are released within five working days of the machine being returned and inspected in the same condition it left in.

04

Third-party liability

Hirers must ensure that their own public and contractor liability cover extends to hired plant on site. Titan does not provide third-party liability cover for the hirer's operations.

05

Reporting an incident

Report any theft, accident or damage immediately on +264 81 622 4997 and follow up with photographs and a written description. Delayed reporting may affect any waiver claim.

06

Documents

A copy of the full hire agreement and insurance schedule is available from the depot on request, and can be issued digitally when a hire is confirmed.
